Sydney turns on a stunner

This week I flew north for a day to Coffs Harbour for work. Up and back in one day, sure beats driving. As we took off out of Sydney, we flew north over the city and straight over the city. How’s this for a view?

Seacliff Bridge in 360

I took a 360 degree camera for a spin yesterday – driving across the Seacliff Bridge near Wollongong. Originally, I had the camera on the roof of our car but the wind and vibrations made it hard to watch. So enjoy our drive, complete with Phil Collins on the radio. Maybe next time I’ll take the drone and follow our car. [embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IILJxPxkkLg[/embedyt]

Truth in advertising

You would have to be living under a rock not to be exposed to dozens, if not hundreds, of advertisements every single day. Whether it’s online, in the newspaper, on the bus in front of you, on the radio you’re listening to, or interrupting the television show you’re watching. I get it. Advertising lets you watch the shows you watch. It pays for the radio announcers you listen to. It, perhaps less so these days, pays for the journalists who produce the news you read. I’ve been the beneficiary of advertising before, having worked in media. So I understand how […]

Jervis Bay

Over the last few days we’ve spent some time holidaying on the south coast of NSW, around Vincentia. This is a beautiful part of the world, with beaches boasting the whitest sand in the world, crystal clear blue water and natural bushland. I will upload photos and videos once I’m back home – but in the meantime, here’s a few selections via Instagram.   Family road trip! #roadtrip #puppy A photo posted by Anthony Clark (@anthonyclarkau) on Feb 20, 2016 at 5:32pm PST The start of a new day is always great – but especially when you’re on holidays! #vincentia #jervisbay […]

Lessons from the Great Telstra Outage of 2016

Tuesday 9 February 2016 is the day of the Great Telstra Outage of 2016. And there are some great communications lessons to come from this distinct lack of mobile communications. By way of background at around lunchtime, mobile telephone services across Australia were disrupted, or more precisely, knocked out across the country. The outage meant users on the Telstra mobile network were unable to make or receive calls for up to three hours, and data services were also affected. While many may have appreciated the peace and quiet of their mobile phone being ‘off the grid’ for much of the afternoon, […]

Hyams Beach and Visit NSW

Another nice little pick-up this week. My photo was selected as the ‘Fan Photo of the Week’ on the official NSW tourism instagram and Facebook pages. Not bad for a dodgy shot off a cheap, waterproof point and shoot camera! Congratulations to Anthony Clark for taking our Fan Photo of the Week! Anyone for the whitest sands in the world? Sharing Bondi with the world

On the weekend we went out to Bondi, nice and early, and captured a beautiful golden sunrise. I instagrammed a few photos – and one of them has been picked up on  the Australia.com Instagram account. At last count around 45,000 likes on my little happy snap. Just wish I straightened up the horizon first! Is the fact that my photo got shared with the world and gained 45k likes going to my head? You betcha.

Best Sydney photography locations

There’s no doubt about it – Sydney is a great location for photographers. The weather is great and there’s a range of landscapes and settings.
