Singapore

Where: Singapore

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Singapore for work. It was a short trip – arriving late on Monday, presenting at a conference and back on Thursday.

While there I took the opportunity to see a bit of the city – certainly a lot  more since I last visited, transiting through Changi Airport on the way to Europe about 10 years back.

I stayed on Orchard Avenue, the main shopping strip of Singapore. It was hot and sticky walking around, although a few people who live there said this was the cold season!

To be honest, apart from the shopping, there isn’t an amazing amount to see and do here so I think I saw all the main attractions – Marina Bay Sands, the Gardens By The Bay, Sentosa Island, the historic hawker markets, the famous Merlion and the city skyline.

Singapore is a clean, modern city and one which is perfect for a few days (perhaps more if you’re cashed up and ready to shop).
