- Christmas In Sydney Place: Pitt Street Where: Sydney The most wonderful time of the year… even with the light rail construction tearing up the street.
- Figure of Eight Pools Where: Royal National Park, Sydney This is one of those places I’ve been wanting to visit for some time. It’s been around for a long time but is amazingly popular thanks to a multitude of Facebook and Instagram posts. It’s not easy to get to and the warnings on the official National Parks website are pretty clear. Freak waves, regular injuries, remote rescue and an ‘extremely challenging’ walk to and from the isolated site. We timed our tip to coincide with low tide, as recommended. You have to do this. If there are waves crashing over the rocks, […]
- Bondi Sunrise Where: Sydney Well, Bondi, it’s been a while. And despite being away from your shores for so long, you’ve put on a show. Courtesy of some hazard reduction burning taking place around Sydney ahead of the bush fire season, there was some smoke lingering in the air off the coast. As the sun peeked its head up above the horizon, the red glow caused by the smoke lit up the sky. The Bondi to Bronte walk then took us along the coastline towards Coogee – and on the return leg, we were joined by a pod of about […]
- Bouddi National Park Where: Central Coast, NSW Sydney and New South Wales have so many spectacular coastal and seaside walks – whether it’s the iconic Bondi to Bronte walk, the Spit to Many walk, or the Seacliff Bridge, we truly are spoilt for options. One we haven’t done before is the Bouddi National Park coastal walk. Setting off from a little beach called Putty Beach near Killcare, the walk heads along the beach and clifftops, taking in amazing views of the coastline. I imagine it would have been even more spectacular just a week earlier when there was rough seas, […]
- Vivid Sydney 2017 Sydney Australia It’s the annual light show held around Sydney – and always a fantastic time of the year to venture into the city. It must be a real challenge pulling together something like Vivid, making sure that it builds upon the previous year and isn’t seen as just the same old stuff. Hard going when you’re dealing with displays on the Opera House and Bridge. But once again, they’ve done it. The city looks amazing. Sadly though the vibe around the city seemed a little bit different this year, mainly because of the threat of terrorism. […]
- Sydney Sunset Where: Mrs Macquarie’s Chair A bit of smoke in the air, a bit of cloud and a balmy Autumn evening in Sydney. I joined the masses at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for sunset. While it was by no means the most amazing sunset I’ve ever seen in Sydney, it was a beautiful sight at the sun went down and the lights came on around the Harbour.
- Royal National Park Where: Sydney One of the advantages of living where we do – our close proximity to the Royal National Park. We went for an early morning walk around Jibbon Head at Bundeena. You see ancient Aboriginal rock carvings, stunning sandstone cliffs and beautiful beaches. These are admittedly iPhone photos but you get the idea.
- Cronulla Drone Sunrise Where: Sydney Took the Phantom 3 drone down to Cronulla this morning for the sunrise. Got nice and low over the water a couple of times – a heart starter for sure, but the shots were nice.
