- Cronulla Sunrise Place: Cronulla Where: Sydney Spring in Sydney… and a long weekend to boot. With the start of daylight saving it makes it just a little bit easier to get out of bed early in the morning. This morning’s sunrise set a beautiful golden sky. Plenty of surfers in the water and people doing laps in the rockpools.
- Sydney Sunset Place: Kirribilli Where: Sydney I’ve been to Kirribilli plenty of times over the years – it’s a great spot to capture the sun setting behind the bridge at certain times of the year. This evening, there was very little cloud so only a few good photos. Mostly time lapse, to get the smooth water and the reflection of the lights on the harbour. This was taken during COVID-19 – and you might just see a special message on one of the hotels in the city.
- Cronulla Sunrise – March 2020 Place: Cronulla Where: Sydney It was just as Sydney was starting to emerge from lockdown that I ventured down to Cronulla early one morning. Just a few pics from a beautiful, golden morning as the surfers hit the water.
- Little Willow Farmstay Place: Little Willow Farmstay Where: Gangbanang NSW Drive for about two hours west of Sydney and you’ll come to a little place called Kanimbla Valley, just across the river from the more famous Megalong Valley. Here you’ll find the Little Willow Farm Stay. We found it on Airbnb, and booked in a weekend away for a birthday celebration with some friends. The farm stay is in a beautiful location, where you can only see a few lights out on the horizon of a night time – and a million stars up above. The accomodation itself is nestled […]
- Vivid Sydney Place: Sydney Where: Sydney It’s become a tradition – trekking into the city on a cold wintery night, carrying all the camera gear and tripod, battling crowds and trying to find a good spot for photos. This year was no different! Just a few spots for snaps this year.
- Sydney Storm Place: Sydney Harbour Where: Sydney They had been warning about the potential for severe storms for a couple of days. Throughout the day, the humidity was building, along with the heat. You could feel the storm brewing. It was amazing it rolling in from the north-west of Sydney, big and dark on the horizon, and with lightning flashing across the sky. The skies opened up and we rode out the worst of it while sheltering in the car.
- Sydney Sunset Place: Dudley Page Reserve Where: Sydney Dudley Page Reserve is a park perched high on the hilltop in Sydney’s eastern suburbs overlooking Sydney Harbour. It presents an iconic Sydney scene, looking straight down the harbour at the Opera House, Bridge and city skyline. The perfect place to take in a colourful sunset like this.
- Cronulla Rockpools Place: Cronulla Where: Sydney Monday 2 April 2018 – Easter Monday. The best part of this time of year, just after the end of daylight saving, is that you can have a bit of a sleep-in and still see the sunrise. It was a race against the clock to get there in time, mind you, but well worth it. The sky lit up all pastel pink and bright orange. I’m still getting used to my new camera but happy with the early results.
- Cape Bailey Coastal Walk Place: Cape Bailey Where: Cronulla The Cape Baily Coastal Walk takes you from Kurnell to Cronulla. The path lines the incredible sandstone cliffs – the ones you see when you fly into Sydney over the ocean. The national park was recently affected by a large bush fire. That occurred last Father’s Day in September, and even at Easter in April, there was plenty of evidence of the fire’s intensity and extent. The walk is a mix of formed paths, sandstone slabs and sand. The formed walkways, using a raised grate over sensitive areas, appear pretty random […]
