Place: Victoria

Where: South of the border

You know that old ad, where the woman is rolling a big ball of string around Victoria? The tagline was “You’ll Love Every Piece Of Victoria”.

This past weekend it was like we were living the ad – from the Yarra Valley and Melbourne to the beautiful wintery surrounds of Daylesford.

We drove down south of the border, with our first stop in the Yarra Valley at Warburton. On the way there we drove through the impressive Yarra Ranges National Park, along a beautiful road surrounded by towering gums. At Warburton, we stopped at the Californian Redwood forest, where all the trees are lined up in perfect symmetry.

From there, it was on to Melbourne for a night in the city and seeing Aladdin – a colourful Disney production.

Then, Daylesford where we rented a nice little cottage, had an amazing dinner at The Perfect Drop, and took in the Daylesford lake.

Then we drove home for more than nine hours through long weekend traffic. Holiday? What holiday?
