Where: Little Willow Farmstay

Where: Gangbenang, NSW

Drive for about two hours west of Sydney and you’ll come to a little place called Kanimbla Valley, just across the river from the more famous Megalong Valley.

Here you’ll find the Little Willow Farm Stay. We found it on Airbnb, and booked in a weekend away for a birthday celebration with some friends.

The farm stay is in a beautiful location, where you can only see a few lights out on the horizon of a night time – and a million stars up above. The accomodation itself is nestled high on a hilltop with a spa outside, a wood heater inside and a spectacular view across the valley that goes very nicely with a wine!

The farm has lots of animals – cows, sheep, goats, chickens and more. And they’re in the most part very very friendly and we even had a chance to feed them in the morning (although some are greedier than others).

Hayley and her partner James, who host the farm stay, were the perfect hosts. They went above and beyond, helping to organise a surprise birthday lunch in the paddock – even carting wooden pallets up the hill to make it extra special and a little more comfortable. A word of advice though – the cows will take an interest in the food!

A great place to stay, in a great location, with some great hosts!
